Case Study
CMGO Bretagne Nord-Ouest
Trégueux, France
On the Trégueux quarry, which is still in operation, an artificial tunnel has been created to promote the hibernation and protection of bats. This project is being carried out in collaboration between the environmental NGOs and the quarrying company. Buried under a belvedere built for the occasion, it meets the ideal conditions (darkness, temperature and humidity) for the hibernation of endangered species. An environment similar to that found in natural caves and underground sites, which the region lacks. This tunnel is intended to accommodate bats in winter during hibernation.
